A milestone with my truck.

Filled up last night and saw the best MPG tank since I’ve owned it.

Kinja'd!!!

And that’s with a terrible misfire above 3,000 RPM, mostly city driving, and the fact that it is a 169,000 mile 21-year-old 4.3 V6 with the awful fuel injection setup GM somehow thought was a good idea.

Oh, and my AutoZone replacement gas cap is already messed up too. I unscrewed it last night and the rubber seal was sideways under the cap. Cute.

I performed a meatball brake controller install and towed an 18’’ Alfa-laden car hauler last night. Truck performed wonderfully, surprising its age and condition :)

But, to throw sand in your face, my 21-year-old 5.2L V8 with 191,000 miles gets me 18.5 :P

I am astonished I get any mpg at all with how badly my truck runs right now.

Well it is a 4.3. Those things don’t die. Sure, the sensors go, and the injectors go, and some various and assorted gaskets go, but that damned engine is nigh unkillable. Pretty sure it will still get ~15 MPG after throwing a rod

Fuelly. I love it. Use it for both the car and the truck. The truck averages 17 and the car averages 27. Ha!

Going to add this to my “getting gas ritual” of:

1. Filling up the car with gas.

2. Checking tire pressure.

3. Cleaning windows.

Thanks!
